Account Inquiry - Inquiry - Summary

The Account Inquiry - Summary displays the accumulated monthly and yearly account balances, budgets and variances for a selected GL account. If your company uses T accounts to flag transactions for GL reporting, you can limit the inquiry so it only displays information for a specific T account or a T account combination, e.g. you could check sales for a particular sales territory/product category combination or a warehouse/item combination.

 

Technical Tip

For a GST GL account, it reports the total liability to claim to date for the month or quarter. This amount appears on the Balance Sheet report and forms the Net GST Liability to date.

To display these details for a GL account:

  1. Display the Account Inquiry screen for the account you want to inquire on.

Refer to "Reports - Account Inquiry".

  1. Select INQUIRY | SUMMARY.

Micronet displays the Summary Inquiry screen showing all figures for the selected account.

  1. If your company uses T accounts, you can narrow the inquiry by entering the T account codes to inquire on in the T1 to T5 fields then selecting Refresh.

Micronet displays the figures for the selected T accounts/combinations only.

  1. To display further details for a specific period, select a period and press the Enter key or double click on a period.

Micronet displays the Select Output Device screen.

  1. Select whether you want the inquiry displayed on screen, printed, saved to a specific type of file, faxed, or emailed in a specific format.

Micronet prints or displays the Account Inquiry - Summary showing all transactions for the selected period.

  1. To display further information for a specific transaction, select the transaction date and then select the Drill button.

Micronet displays the Select Drill screen with a list of report layout options created in the Report Generator.

  1. Select a format for the inquiry then select Ok.

Micronet displays the Select Output Device screen.

  1. Select whether you want the inquiry displayed on screen, printed, saved to a specific type of file, faxed, or emailed in a specific format.

Micronet prints or displays the inquiry in the selected report layout.

GL Other Side Report

  1. When you have finished with the Summary Inquiry screen, select the Ok button.

Micronet redisplays the Account Inquiry screen.
